Elsewhere was written in 25 days. Lexi Weakley wrote the book, music and lyrics, and weeks later, Elsewhere began its premiere production at the Campus Theater in Los Angeles, CA.

Elsewhere’s first production closed 13 weeks from the day that Lexi started writing the musical. It was one of the first pieces of theater to be staged in the greater Los Angeles area during the pandemic in the summer of 2021.

After its live show, Lexi put the profit toward the official cast recording which was released on all streaming sites in the summer of 2022. The cast recording was produced in Boston, MA, with a team composed of students at Berklee College of Music and cast members from Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of music. The album included two actors from the original premiere production in Los Angeles.

Lexi also released a short documentary titled “The Making Of Elsewhere” to promote the show and the release of the cast album. This documentary explains more in depth about the process of the show and the team involved.
